No, the Board Members and officers of KSOA are non-paid volunteer board members and officers. We caught them at a weak moment and they all agreed, for the love of the sport, to volunteer their time and effort. And, this is stated in the Bylaws. If our bylaws are ever changed, the board is required to notify all members of KSOA.
We feel that we can make great headway on our goals at these rates. They are also comparable to other associations in Kansas and in Kansas City, MO. A budget will be prepared and the number of members who sign up will determine where we focus our efforts. All income and expenditures will also be transparent to members at duly called membership meetings. We are excited for the opportunity to make our association great.
As our mission statement outlines, we aim to provide a pathway for excellence in officiating for all of our members. Our goal is for every KSOA member, no matter the level they work, to receive the training and development needed to hone their craft of officiating, better serving these hardworking student athletes and coaches. The board is implementing a sub-varsity advisory council to ensure the needs of referees at all levels are being addressed and met.
We are working on this! As this Association continues to grow and develop, the KSOA logo will be a symbol synonymous with excellence in officiating. Stay tuned to our website and social media accounts for announcements pertaining to KSOA apparel.
